Getting Started

Congratulations!  You have completed your first step toward studying abroad! If you are reading this, you are at the beginning of what is guaranteed to become a life-altering, eye-opening, character-shaping, knowledge-and-insight-deepening, fun and exciting, unforgettable adventure and self-discovery: study abroad.  You have a dream and you want to know how to make that dream come true.

Thousands of college students just like you study abroad every year.  Each one has his or her own academic and personal goals, just like you.  The staff at the IPO Education Abroad Office is at your service to help you to begin your journey, manage the process, and fulfill your dream.  We will help you figure out what program is best for you academically and personally, provide you with useful information and resources, and guide and support you through the entire application process and beyond.  But first, we ask you to do some preliminary exploring and thinking about your goals and options.

There are several points at which you can begin your study abroad exploration and application process.  All the following steps must be completed prior to meeting with a study abroad advisor, but they may be done in any order.
