Notes:
Please note that the program fee is subject to change. The program fee includes tuition.  Mandatory health insurance for 10/5 months at $100/month are not included. Program participants who are over the age of 30 at the start of the program are not eligible for the German student health insurance and must purchase private German health insurance at an additional fee.

  2. Items marked as “Billable” are paid to UMass.
  3. Costs for Travel/Excursions vary widely depending on choices of destination, accommodation, and frequency of travel. Plan to add these costs to the above budget.
  4. The Mandatory Fees are charged by the IUSP directly and currently are
    "€ 3,700 for room, board etc., including:
    - Course material for the intensive German class
    - Cultural program (Weekend trips: Hostel, breakfast and guided city tours are included in the program fee.)
    - Meal subsidy (comes in the shape of a cafeteria debit card, charged with € 50 per month) Please note that we do not have a meal plan!
    - Semester administration fee including ticket for free public transport
    - Local bus pass for the time before the validity of the semester ticket
    - Accommodation (single room in one of our student dormitories, plus cleaning fee. If you do not need accommodation through us, we deduct € 800 from the program fee.)

UMass System students pay the appropriate in-state/out-of-state tuition and fees, New England Regional/in-state Mass Public College students please add $500/sem. to the in-state/out-of-state tuition and fees.
