WELLINGTON New Zealand

The Ultimate Study Abroad Experience

Study abroad in Wellington, perched on the southern coast of New Zealand's North Island, the city effortlessly bridges the two islands while also blending the city's artsy side with its role as capital. The epitome of relaxed, "Welly" is home to hip bars, funky galleries, and a plethora of bohemian cafés ideal for the study abroad student. Steep hills dotted with Victorian houses dramatically rise from the sparkling harbor as playful winds swirl through the streets. We dare you not to be swept away by the charms and energy of this idyllic city when you study abroad for a semester or year.

Wellington Program Highlights

  • Select from two universities to study abroad in New Zealand's capital which offer a comprehensive array of courses
  • Take advantage of our pre-semester trip to the beautiful islands of Fiji
  • Experience living with local and other international students in university housing
  • Take advantage of our mid-semester excursion options to New Zealand's adventure-packed South Island or the culture and beaches of Thailand
  • Live and study in Wellington – an artsy college town that just happens to be the capital of the country and is perfectly located to explore the North and South Islands
  • Feel the adrenaline rush during our Orientation Program where you are exposed not only to local culture but to New Zealand's love of extreme sports

"One of the best parts about studying abroad in Wellington are all of the different markets the city hosts. Every weekend there were four different markets. One of my favorite days in Wellington was one Sunday when my friends and I spent the majority of our morning and afternoon at the farmer’s market. We got our produce and ate lunch lying on the grass in the sun looking out onto the water; it was the perfect way to relax before the school week started up again."
